Lush debuts first cosmetics line: Emotional Brilliance + Giveaway!

By now you are probably sick of reading blog posts talking about Lush's premiere makeup collection, Emotional Brilliance, so if you are, just scroll through all the pretty pictures and skip down to the goodies at the bottom!  If this is all new to you, then let me tell you about this new makeup line by Lush!

This vegan, handmade and organic makeup line features a full smorgasbord of products for eyes, lips, and face, each made with the TLC Lush is renowned for.

A few weeks back, I was invited along with several other local bloggers to check out the event at the Robson store location in the heart of downtown Vancouver:

Consultants roamed the store answering questions and offering drinks in the newly renovated space.  I was relieved that Lush seemed to have cranked up their ventilation that day as normally I dread entering Lush because of its over-powering smell.

The Emotional Brilliance line is characterized by its bright, saturated pigments.  What looks like little chemistry tubes are actually lip, eye and cheek colors, each named after a powerful emotion, like Calming, Drive and Independent.  Since all the bottles looked the same, it was really difficult to tell what was to be used for what, but maybe Lush did that on purpose to encourage users to think of the products as all-over, rather than specific types of makeup?  Most of the colors leaned more towards technicolor dream-coat than everyday wear, making these a bit unusual for me.  The bright lip colors looked really fun, but I have heard that they are rather drying.

Besides makeup, Lush has also come out with a series of solid perfumes.  Although the perfume sticks are brightly colored, no need to fret as the fragrance goes on sheer!  There were a bunch of exclusive to the Robson store on display as well as the normal lines containing scents of Orange Blossom, Jasmine, and Vanilla.  I tried on the Vanilla, which smelled just heavenly and not over-powering.

Besides eye and lip colors, the line also includes skin products, such as a blush pink translucent setting powder, a moisturizing mascara, a highlighter, and a bronzer.  Each product comes in a recyclable jar and is suited for all skin tones.

Are you intrigued by the Emotional Brilliance line?  Well then I want YOU to try it out!  I've got the entire Lush Emotional Brilliance line to giveaway, including:

  • 2 eye pigments (see pic 4 of post)
  • 1 lip color (see pic 4)
  • 1 bronzer
  • 1 translucent powder
  • 1 skin illuminator
  • 1 mascara

Each of these products range around $20 each so this entire package is worth around $140!!

So how do you win all of this?!

Doing each of these will get you 1 entry:

  3. I always hear such great things about Lush --actually, it seems like they've got something of a cult following. Their products must be really fantastic! I will have to drop by a retailer & check out their solid perfumes. They seem like they would be perfect for carrying around (and not worrying about spilling with a liquid perfume)!

  14. I would love to win these because I do not live anywhere near a Lush store! The nearest one is 4 hours away. I never buy scented products online, so I never get Lush products for myself. This would be a really nice treat for myself!
