Buy: Stila Set and Correct Baked Powder review

The Product
Get rid of shine, dullness, redness and otherwise awful skin with this one, convenient product.  This baked powder promises to provide a lightweight silky finish with an effortless application.

The Guts
What's unique about this product is that it's a trio of baked powders:

  • Peach to illuminate
  • Green to counteract redness
  • Lavendar to eliminate sallow undertones

Price & Packaging
At $34, this may seem a bit steep, but you get a lot of product for your buck.  The "compact" contains 2 cm of product judging by the thickness of the exterior, which is ground into a satiny powder by the grinder contained inside.  Just turn the grinder wheel and an equal distribution of the 3 colors appear on the surface, plus, there's a handy mirror for application!  The only thing missing is a neat little travel brush, but considering most powders don't come with one, I won't fault Stila for not providing one either.

The thing I hate the most is how big the compact is as it takes up a large amount of space inside my toiletry bag, however if it lasts me forever due to the large amount of product contained within, then I don't mind.

Effectiveness
At first I was a little skeptical since none of the colors in this compact were beige, plus skin products that assure me that it works to complement "all skin tones" usually leave me with a scary white face with an artificial pink sheen.  Why can't most companies acknowledge that "most skin tones" don't actually have pink undertones?!

Anyways, I was very pleasantly surprised with this Stila product. To apply, just swirl the powders around, tap your brush to get rid of excess product and apply your way to a soft, flawless finish.  I did notice that it still leaves me with a hint of whiteness that doesn't quite match my skin tone, but considering it's the summer,  my tan could be to blame as well.

This powder kept me shine free for at least a few hours, which is standard longevity for me.  If you have oilier skin, you may want to pack some oil blotting papers for touch-ups.

Works to eliminate shine and give me flawless skin. The grinder is quite fun to use!

  6. Mid-afternoon shine is my biggest point of contention with my skin, so this sounds like it'd be incredible for my skin type! And I'm usually very skeptical of those "colour-correcting" pinks, greens, etc., but if you're giving it a vote of confidence, I may have to give it a go! Hope you're doing well beauty!
