Somewhere between couture runways and high-street bargain racks are the rising ranks of mid-priced contemporary fashion lines. Hardly affordable, yet still attainable, these mid-line collections offer quality designs in luxurious fabrics for the discerning masses who grow weary of the endless cycles of fast fashion.
Club Monaco is something I would consider to be in the higher end of affordable fashion. Although I hardly buy anything there full price, I do have a soft spot for their effortless take on classic style and am always haunting their sale racks. You can imagine then my curiosity when I heard that Club Monaco had recently debuted a higher end version of their regular line, simply called the Collection. The majority of Collection features that classic Club Monaco style only with higher end fabrics, like cashmere, silk, calf hair and Italian leathers. Prices range from $98 and up and features primarily fall essentials, like warm coats, slim-cut trousers, sweaters and sheathes. Below are some of my favourites from the Collection. You can browse the whole range of items online and in stores.
This Italian leather and wool dress is hands-down my favourite of the collection. This is covered-up sexiness at its finest. This dress hugs your curves and is just short enough to show off your legs, but its covered back and modest v-neck ensure you could still wear this to a work function with the right jacket and shoes.
Every woman needs a good pair of slim wool pants for their office wardrobe, although now that I say this, I realize I don't have any! These are available in both camel and black, but I favour the former for its slightly more casual look. I think these would be great in transition seasons since the cropped leg offers you the versatility to wear these with sandals and flats unlike full-length pants which may be too long for anything but heels.
As you know, I've been a little obsessed with leather leggings. These ones offer the luxuriously supple look of leather along with the forgiving comfort of an elastic waist, which is a big plus since leather can be rather unforgiving.
Last, but not least, is this beautiful red wool coat. I've always dreamed of having a red wool coat and this slightly blazer-like take on a wool coat is so modern and wonderful. Looking at this coat makes the sadness of putting away my summer clothes feel a little less intense.
Will you be buying anything from this new "Collection"?
