I picked up this eyeliner while doing some trip shopping before my Hawaii trip earlier this year. I knew that a black eyeliner was a must for packing, but I didn't want something that would leave me raccoon-eyed on the beach. The girl at Shoppers Drug Mart recommended the Maybelline New York Waterproof Liquid Eyeliner, stating that it was their most popular eyeliner, so of course I had to get it.
The Maybelline New York Waterproof Liquid Eyeliner is your standard felt tip liquid eyeliner. I'm unsure if it comes in any other color but black as that's all I saw at SDM at the time.
Price & Packaging
This eyeliner is dirt cheap, retailing at less than $6 at Walmart. It's a straight-forward felt-tip with a long wand that is comfortable to hold in the hand.
I was very pleased with this eyeliner as it dried quickly and didn't budge at all, even when underwater! It also washed off easily too without requiring any special makeup remover. For the first week of use, it was fantastic and delivered a straight, inky black line.
Over the following weeks though and continuing thereafter, my love of this liner faded. The eyeliner became very watery and streaky. For the first eye, pigmentation was decent, but the second eye was much more difficult and the more I would try to redraw the line, the streakier it became. You could try to excuse this as just being the nature of liquid liners as you get to the bottom of the tube, but I have never had this experience with other liquid liners, so #sorrynotsorry, this is not acceptable!
