Ever since I discovered the powers of aromatherapy, I have become a firm believer in the idea of surrounding yourself in nice smelling air. I always carry capsules of essential oils in my purse and I keep room sprays and diffusers throughout my home. Now though I can kill two birds with one stone so to speak, now that I have The Loft Home Collection from Bleu Lavande!
Nestled near the town of Magog, Quebec, the Bleu Lavande estate has long been a Quebecois secret and are well known for their sprawling lavender fields. The estate produces a wide variety of home and bath products from these purple flowers and also offers tours around their meadows. In recent years, the brand has expanded outside Quebec and is available in Metro grocery stores in Quebec and Ontario, and online everywhere else.
Recently, Bleu Lavande launched an official line of home cleaning products line called Loft which contains three different items:
- Loft Lavender Surface Cleanser ($5.99)
- Loft Lavender Multi-Surface Cleanser ($6.99)
- Loft Lavender and Rosemary Hand and Dish Soap ($9.99)
Each product comes in 500 ml bottles, which is super good value for under $10 and although I'm not a huge lavender fan, I think for the bathroom it's such an ideal scent to create a soothing atmosphere.
All of the Loft home products can be used on chrome, porcelain, enamel and steel surfaces, making them super versatile. They are all also biodegradable, free of parabens and petroleum additives, contain no artificial fragrances and are made using Bleu Lavande's lavender, which is grown without pesticides or herbicides! It was this last angle that really convinced me to try these products as we already use mainly eco-friendly products to clean our home and clothes. Since our dog is always licking things off the floor, it just makes good sense to not use chemical-laden cleansers!
Out of the three products, the Loft Lavender and Rosemary Hand and Dish Soap is definitely my favourite. I was really impressed by how fragrant it was considering it doesn't contain artificial perfumes. I really love the mix of lavender and rosemary, although I wish it was more rosemary than lavender, but I think that's really just me wanting that! Why are there never any rosemary and cedar scented lines out there??
Anyways, the Loft Lavender and Rosemary Hand and Dish Soap is very gentle on hands and foams up well. I've primarily been using this as a hand soap and it doesn't dry out my hands at all and rinses away cleanly.
The Loft Lavender Surface Cleanser and the Loft Lavender Multi-Surface Cleanser are very similar products, except the Loft Lavender Surface Cleanser comes in a spray bottle. I've been using the Loft Lavender Surface Cleanser everywhere - on sinks, counters, the exterior of my toilets and the tub. It's super easy to just spray this cleanser everywhere, leave it for a minute and wipe clean. Compared to my usual surface cleanser, Pink Solution, I feel like this one is more concentrated and works quicker; however Pink Solution is as concentrated as you make it so maybe I just need to make mine stronger!
The Loft Lavender Multi-Surface Cleanser is a concentrated mix of the regular surface cleanser and can be diluted for use when mopping floors or doing larger cleaning jobs. You can use this on pretty much any surface, but Bleu Lavande does caution using any of these on wood. I like to use this to cut through soap grime in the tub. I just mix a capful with a small bucket of water, dip a sponge into it and then soap the sides of my tub. After a couple of minutes I then use a dry brush to wipe all the dirt away.
Since using the Loft cleansers, I've noticed that my bathroom stays cleaner for longer, which means I can be lazier than normal! I would definitely recommend trying these products out and now I'm really curious to try some of the other Bleu Lavande products like their laundry linen waters and bath products!
Buy - affordable, smells heavenly and works!
