Get Your Glow On: Current Bronzer Roundup

summer bronzers

Anytime of year is a good time for a little glow, but summer especially is when you want a little warmth in your skin. Coral lips, bright pink blushes and bronzer just all go hand in hand. Here are a few products in my current rotation that give me that sun-kissed look without actually being outside.

For subtle warmth:

  • Wet N' Wild Color Icon Bronzer in Reserve Your Cabana (reviewed here) - this satin-finish, lightly tan bronzer is probably the most subtle bronzer I've ever used. I wouldn't even use it in the traditional manner of a bronzer as it's so subtle, but what it is perfect for is as an all-over powder to set and give a hint of golden warmth to skin. It won't keep you matte, but it sits as light as air and I love just blending this on all over as my final step to add a hint of shimmer.
For glow and light warmth:
  • MAC Otherearthly Mineralize Skinfinish - I scooped this up very recently, but it first came out earlier this year with the MAC Future collection. I wasn't even that into this powder until I saw it on other bloggers and then got hooked when I swatched it in store. This powder is SO GORGEOUS. It's a mix of a warm bronze, peachy pink and glittery silver that seems like such an odd combo, but when mixed together they just look so amazing. My skin just looks ethereal with this one and you can wear all the shades as eye shadows too! If you're a low maintenance person, then you just can't beat this for value and speediness as this powder can be your eye shadow, blush and bronzer all in one!
For maximum warmth and glow:
  • MAKE UP FOREVER Pro Sculpting Duo (reviewed here) - now we're getting into the heavier hitters with this shimmery duo from MUFE that came out out last summer. This quintessential bronze and highlight duo contains a beautiful bronzer that is VERY warm toned so I would recommend shade matching before trying. The highlight in this shade is incredible, so if you're into strobing then you can definitely carve out your bone structure using just this alone.
  • Charlotte Tilbury Filmstar Bronze & Glow - my absolutely favourite bronzer ever. At around $80-90 it's the priciest item on this list but I would gladly drop that cash again for this one. This bronzer is a perfect match for my skin color. It blends like a dream and is cool enough to use for contouring and bronzing on me. Plus the gold highlight is absolutely stunning, although it's very vibrant so a light hand is needed. Between the stunning gold retro packaging, the quality of the shades, it's stay-all-day lasting power and the fact that I've barely dented it after months of use, makes this truly my HG, ride-or-die bronzer.
