It's one of the most wonderful times of year - Sephora VIB sale time! For just 1 week (or less, depending on your membership level), everything at Sephora is 15% off. Sephora only has these sales for their loyal shoppers a couple of times a year and it's 100% the reason why I haven't saved enough to retire yet.
As with most times, I'm always scrambling last minute to think about what to buy. I really should download the Sephora app, so then I can just add things to my shopping list as I go as I'm constantly thinking to myself "I want this" when I see something shiny and pretty on a blog or Instagram.
Read on to see what items I've narrowed my cart to so far:
I've been lusting for the Hourglass Ambient Strobe Lighting Blush palette ever since it came out. Made up of a shimmering peach, rose and plum, I resisted on purchasing the Hourglass blushes when they first launched, and I only let myself purchase 1 of the original Hourglass Ambient Strobe Lighting highlighters, so I think it's okay to splurge on this gorgeous palette right? The Hourglass Ambient Strobe Lighting Blush palette is super pricey at $75 and also super teeny at just 0.27 oz of product, but it marries the luminous pigment of their blushes with the glamourous sheen of the highlights for something that is always beautiful and never over done.
Next on my list is the Kevyn Aucoin The Sculpting Powder. I've never tried anything from Kevin Aucoin, but everything I've read about the famous The Sculpting Powder has been positive. I'm torn on whether to go with the Light or Medium shade as I really want something that I can build up and which is a subtle contour. Most of the bronzers I have are more warm toned, or have shimmer and this one promises just that perfect hollow that isn't muddy or orange.
Highlighters are huge this season and as soon as I saw the new Too Faced Love Light Prismatic Highlighters, I was blown away. Just look at that incredible prismatic pan!! These are just too stunning for words. Available in 3 shades, I'm drawn the most to the shade Ray of Light, which is a warm rose gold. Ray of Light is pigmented enough to be worn solo, or as a shimmering topper.
On the more practical side, another thing I've been on the hunt for forever is a good concealer. I have good under-eye options, but nothing satisfactory for my blemishes and scars. Nars is killing it lately when it comes to concealers and everyone's been raving about the new Soft Matte Complete Concealer. This concealer comes in a huge variety of shades and is said to be so pigmented that you need only the teeniest bit to cover everything up. I feel like a cream pot will be easier to control the amount applied, so I'm leaning towards this over the much-loved Radiant Creamy Concealer.
Finally, last but not least, is a total splurge that I absolutely must try: the Milk Makeup Face Gloss. I've been lusting over this one forever!! I love a good powder highlight, but the wet highlight look has a special place in my heart as I've been pining for this trend ever since I was a teenager slicking lip gloss on my lids. This translucent gloss can be applied anywhere on the face and can be worn over makeup or solo. I've heard it's really tricky to use, but it's a challenge I'm willing to take on!
Now at a total of $227 before discount and ebates, for sure I'm not going to buy everything on this list, but I need your help to decide! The VIB sale goes on from now till the 24th, so help a girl out and let me know in the comments which items you think I can do without, or which are absolute must-have-no-regrets!
